I love photographing babies, children and families!  I strive to capture the essence of who they are, at that moment in their life.   My style is to take a step back and observe natural personality - and wait for THAT right moment to press the shutter button.  I try to avoid giving direction unless it is necessary (for example, when a slight turn of the head or body offers better lighting) but I prefer photo sessions that reflect a more casual interaction, so the final photos reflect moments and expressions that happened more naturally than the standard "1-2-3...smile!" scenario. 

I prefer to shoot in outdoor, natural settings as much as possible, and only supplementing natural light with artificial light when absolutely necessary.  Natural settings and outdoor photography produce the best, most flattering lighting for photographs.  These natural settings often produce far better pictures than a sitting in a formal studio. You pick the location for your session  -  your home, backyard, park or playground  all make for fabulous photo shoots.   Studio locations can be scary and unfamiliar for children, and it sometimes can be reflected in the photographs.  A relaxed environment is more likely to produce a more relaxed subject, which in turn produces more relaxed-looking images!
